Art workshops – Have fun painting and making

Breakaway members are offered the chance to work with a range of materials including water colours, oils, textiles and modelling materials.


Ceramics – Have a go at making things using clay

Working with ceramics, participants are encouraged to explore themes which mean something personal to them. Projects have included “Where I live”, “Friendship” and “Culture”. We also explore new places in a bid to develop new themes and projects.

Woodwork – Have a go at making things with wood 

A Practical hands on workshop that focuses on the development of coordination and new skills including the use of tools and measuring instruments.

Music – Have a go at making your very own songs and tunes

This is a lively workshop which introduces different musical instruments to create a variety of sounds. Music is captured on CD, developed into musical scores and stored on CDs. Participants are encouraged to sing solos and develop harmonies. 

Going Places – Tell us where you want to go and we will make it happen 

We encourage Breakaway members to identify places of interest or community recreational facilities they would like to attend and then we plan excursions which are free of charge.
